Always best to use a sun block or sun screen, even on cloudy days. I got a really bad burn while vacationing in Fla. one year when I went without on a cloudy day. Worst ride home with blistered skin. Had to stop at a drug store in Ky. to get something to ease the pain. It's always better to be safe than sorry.

It's been on the news lately that most of the sunscreens are no where as good as they claim. . You should google that and make sure you buy a good one. Your's doesn't look that bad. . Some visitors down here look like lobsters after the second day.

Being a cancer survivor, you can bet I have an oncology dermatologist in my retinue. This is definitely true: " SUNSCREENS TO AVOID: SPRAYS AND POWDERS EWG recommends you avoid all sunscreen sprays and powders containing SPF, since it’s too easy to accidentally inhale them and/or miss a spot. According to their report, "These sunscreens are aerosol sprays with SPFs above 50+ and the harmful additives oxybenzone and retinyl palmitate." Some of the brands to make it into their "Hall of Shame" include Banana Boat, Coppertone and CVS." and she told me all this in the office. I use Purpose( water based and fragrance free) or Yes to Carrots( for my face) or one of the Badgers for all over. She and several others also confirm that 30 is the most anyone needs. The higher number is merely a selling gimic. IF the season warms up and the bugs come out, I am going to splurge and buy some Sun's Up cause it has bug screen in it along with sun protection I will post a blog about sunscreens later today in order to share what I know (Virtual Symposium Group) use Virtual Symposium Group

I tan rather easily (or was that burn? lol), so I always apply generous amounts of SPF 50... especially when I'm at a nude beach. Thoughts from the Garden...

When I was living in Greece, by the time I made it first time for the year to the beach, I had a tan already. Rephrase that, meant black! And after about 15 years living in England, one time on holiday my nose peeled!!!1st time in my life. Was about 37 yo! I love my own dark skin, and I still thank my ex, virtually, in my thought,when I see the skin of my kids, lovely olive skin, a good mix. It is so surprising that a nice thing, like the sun on ones skin, can cause so many problems, and even death!

Now days I cover up when being outside; not that I like doing that, but 37 years of working construction in tee shirts has given me that sun wrinkle effect on all the exposed parts of my body. Working in the yard and just hanging out was shorts, tanks or tee shirts too; no more of that either. I still get enough sun; I just don't take a day long bath in the sunshine. I am darker complected which helps defend against the constant sunshine bath besides the fact I am going to grow wrinkles with time! lol

I too am one of those who tends to apply sun cream once at the start of the day, then forget to reapply later on  Thankfully, looking at your pictures, you don't seem to have got too badly caught out this time

I strive to maintain my musicians pallor...A "Farmer Tan" is about as much of my body that gets exposed...Made the mistake of lounging in the Sun in cutoffs only once...Never again...Aloe is our friend...
